There is a serious concern for issues related silvicultural methods and land management including the social acceptability of trade-offs between uneven-aged management and even-aged management of upland forests, the need for best management practices in riparian and floodplain forests and long-term soil productivity of managed forests. New approaches are needed that address public acceptance.
